It's a custom Christmas!

Whew! I know I've been neglecting this blog, and our Facebook page, but I've been super busy creating all sorts of custom designs for people's Christmas/wedding/teacher/anniversary/baby gifts! Not to mention getting my own Christmas cards out, editing family photos for family and friends, throwing myself a birthday party... yeah, I know! From chargers to custom monogram mugs to all sorts of signs to lighted nativity glass blocks... you get the picture. I wasn't organized enough to take pictures of all that I did, but here are a few:
This was for a wedding gift - wedding was last weekend!

This was for an anniversary gift - thoughtful and classy! I did another one just like this for my sister except it said "Our Family is Forever" - and of course I wrapped it before I remembered I didn't take a picture, lol...

I did five of these chargers real quick for a friends' teacher gifts - they turned out great, especially the black ones:

The silver chargers did NOT photograph well, but they were pretty too:

These polka-dotted mugs with hot cocoa packets were OUR teacher gifts (not really, because this is a generic one and all of ours had the teachers' monograms - "Mrs. F" or just "S" etc. We even did music note-themed mugs for our piano and orchestra teachers!!) Yes, this is PERMANENT vinyl and dishwasher safe. Too cool. Even cooler that I had found these plain, nice black mugs at a thrift store for 50 cents a piece.

This is not a finished project photo because I did the vinyl only for this one, but it is going to be put on the glass of an 11x14 backless frame for a baby gift. Too sweet, way more thoughtful than my standard gift of diapers!!!

Last but not least are custom signs I did for a woman who is getting one for herself, and one for each of her children. This patriotic quote is meaningful to all of them. Pictures won't do it justice, but I painted the signs to look like old parchment and they are AWESOME if I do say so myself! Honestly, this is probably the prettiest thing I've made all month, and believe me, I've made lots of pretty things the last few weeks! Check it out:

Families Rule! (Or Family Rules. You choose.)

I'm liking these "Rules" signs more and more as I see them around... here's one version we've done, hanging on the wall of my lovely friend Taisey.

Just to give you an idea of scale, this is her standing next to it (though she wouldn't send me a photo of her face!!!)

I'm a genius.

As if you didn't already know, right? Okay, no really... you know how you have wrought iron easels all over your house, holding random decorative things, plaques, tiles, etc... well, I never have enough of them and just thought of a replacement - I took the back of a 5x7 picture frame that's been long gone and hot glued it to the back of one of our signs - a perfect easel! And free! Now I'm just ill knowing how many of these I've ripped off, thrown away or taken to DI. So there you go. You're welcome. I put these together these little rustic signs this morning... and yes, I even did one for you Jimmer fans out there. Favorite NFL?  My husband told me to make another sample that said "Bear Down" - but sorry, I'm a Sun Devil through and through, and that one would have to be a special order.

The Magic of Christmas...

well... the REAL magic is that I finally got my sign done, a month and a half after starting it. Here's where I started - this vinyl "Family Masterpieces" has been on my wall for a couple of years.  (and I still love it)  Every Christmas season I wrap all these framed family photos under it with wrapping paper and big pretty bows, and hang them back up - -  (sidenote, wow all these pictures are outdated! Time to get some new ones!) 

- - the whole arrangement has been BEGGING for a sign to go over it. SO - here is kind of a preview of what it will look like next holiday season - (minus the wrapped presents, sorry you can't get the full effect here, I'm not wrapping them all right now just for a photo, you'll have to wait til the day after Thanksgiving! ) - - 7 of these frames will be wrapped beautifully, and then the last frame (one of the big ones) will hold a picture of Christ (hence the saying...)

What do you think?  See? My "Family Masterpieces" vinyl is still good as new, hidden under the sign, waiting to be uncovered again after Christmas is over.  Yeah!  You can have your cake and eat it too, or rather, have your holiday vinyl and eat it too, oh, wait...   ha!

Custom Name Signs.

Many of you who've been to my house know I planned this big wrought-iron looking vinyl sign by my front door for forever before I actually made it happen - but the result was worth the wait! This ginormous vinyl hanging "sign" looks perfect, I think, next to my super tall front door (If you have a shorter door you may want the smaller version!)

Cost is $30 for a big version like mine - which is about 20" tall -

The smaller version is about 14" tall (appropriate for human-sized doors) and will be $24.

I guess we could make one even smaller, say, if you happen to be a HOBBIT.
